How To Extract Compressed Files Divided In Parts Into One Directly on PC

I am going to make this tutorial very brisk, concise and precise on how to easily re-assemble a compressed/archived file that has been split into several parts using an archival software.

If you are on this page I suppose you may have downloaded a compressed file (Zip, Rar or any other format ) that has been split into parts, maybe part 1 – 3 or part 1 – 5 or whatever, what is important is that they have been split in to several parts.

Furthermore, for emphasis and clarity’s sake I would love to say this, the size of all the parts must be equal in size from the first Zipped/Rar file to the second to last, only the last one will be different in size otherwise the compressed file is corrupted. I mean this, say we have CyberHero VPN part 1 – 5 compressed file in a folder, scroll and look at their individual sizes, for a typical scenario as Adobe Photoshop:

CyberHero VPN part 2 (150mb)
CyberHero VPN part 3 (150mb)
CyberHero VPN part 4 (150mb)
CyberHero VPN part 5 (75mb)

The above is just an illustration to show you what I meant about the filesize, part 1 – the second to last file must be same size, only the last part will be different.

Okay, here is how to extract all files to become one:

Ensure to use any Archiver for this Job, I use WinRAR as an example here because it is a lot common and more popular. You can use any, 7-zip, Pea Zip etc.

1. It is advisable you create a new folder and copy all parts into the new folder.

2. Ensure WinRar is installed already, just hover the cursor to Part 1, Right click it, then go to Extract files (having WinRar symbol/icon) or you could just click Extract here.

3. After extracting the part 1, go to part 2 and perform the same extraction process. A pop up will notify you that “you have a file here with similar Folder and filenames, do you want to replace?” Just click “Yes to all”

4. Follow same extraction process through to the last file. Remember selecting “Yes to all” till you extract all parts. Holla! That’s how easy it is to extract multiple files all back into one file.



IMPORTANT NOTE:
You must have a zip file extrator like the windows default program to extract.

How to Disable Function Key(Fn) on Any Windows

Okay in this tutorial I will be explaining how to disable or enable the Fn key on a PC. You might want to ask me, why disable it? The reason is solely dependent on the user, before stating a reason I would love to explain the Fn key.

The Fn key is a key that is usually found at the bottom part of the PC keyboard. In most PCs, the Fn key in combination with the F1 – F12 keys serves some specific purposes like brightness, volume, wifi etc. whereas in some PC the case is a lot different, the Fn key is not needed in combination with the F1 – F12 key to adjust brightness, volume, help, Wi-Fi etc.


If the latter is your case and you are not a graphics designer or use some software that has F1 – F12 keys shortcut commands then you need not to worry. On the other hand if you are a graphics designer then you may consider disabling the direct function of the F1 – F12 key because if you are designing most times you may quickly want to press one of the F1 – F12 to initiate a command but the hardware settings such as brightness, volume will be adjusted. This tutorial will teach you how to stop such, but please note that your system must be able to boot into advanced BIOS mode to embark on this task:

1. Make sure your PC is shut down, then, kindly turn it on.

2. While it is booting speedily press the key that opens the BIOS menu, for most PC it is the F10 key.

3. Then use either the left or right arrow to navigate to the System Configuration.

4. Press the up or down arrow key to move to the Action Keys Mode, then press enter to either disable or enable it.
NB: Disable means pressing and holding the Fn key pressing the F1 – F12 key whilst trying to perform the function written there whereas Enable means the function there will be performed by pressing only any of the F1 – F12 key.

5. Then press F10 to save the setting and restart your computer.

How to Hotspot Another Device from PC Hotspot for Fast Browsing

Computer can be used to hotspot other devices operating system, either small or large devices. Here the computer can also be connected to another computer/laptop.
This process of connection can be helpful in the sense that, many don't know about computer wifi hotspot and know you are knowing the it, you can connect or set it up for people and on any windows devices to connect to one another if the sim that has internet is the only surviving sim.

1. Press Win+X and select "Command Prompt (Admin)." This will start the Command Prompt with administrator access. You may be prompted to continue depending on your computer's security settings.
You'll need to be logged in with an administrator account or know the administrator password in order to perform these steps.


2. Check to see if you have a compatible wireless adapter installed. You'll need a wireless adapter in order to create a wireless network for your mobile device to connect to. Virtually all Windows laptops have a wireless adapter installed, but many desktop computers do not come with one. Type the following command to check if you have an adapter installed, and if it's compatible:[1]
netsh wlan show drivers
If you get a message saying The Wireless AutoConfig Service is not running, your computer does not have a wireless adapter installed. You can try a USB wireless adapter, or see Install a PCI Card for instructions on installing a network card.


3. Find the .Hosted network supported line. You may need to scroll back up to find it. If it says Yes, your wireless adapter supports broadcasting a wireless network. Keep the Command Prompt window open for now.
Not all wireless adapters support hosting their own network. If your computer does not have a compatible adapter, you can try a USB adapter instead.



4. Ensure your computer is connected to the network via Ethernet. This method requires that the computer you are turning into a wireless hotspot has an Ethernet cable connection to the network. You'll be sharing this connection with the devices that connect to your computer via wireless.[2]
Press ⊞ Win+X and select "Network Connections" to load the Network Connections window. Look for an "Ethernet" connection in the list. It will have an Ethernet cable icon underneath the network icon.
If you don't have an Ethernet connection (i.e. you're using a Surface tablet), see the section below on using Connectify, which can use your wireless adapter to both receive internet and broadcast it to connected devices.



5. Enter the command to create the network. Return to the Command Prompt window, or open it in administration mode again if you closed it. Type the following command:[3]
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=name key=password
Replace name with the name you want your network to appear as.
Replace password with the password you want to use to protect your network. It must be at least eight characters long.



6. Start the new hotspot. Enter the following command to start your new hotspot:
netsh wlan start hostednetwork


7. Return to the Network Connections window. You can find it in the ⊞ Win+X menu if you closed it earlier.


8. Right-click your Ethernet connection and select "Properties." This will open a new window with details on your Ethernet adapter.


9. Check the first box in the "Sharing" tab. It reads "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection." A new menu will appear under the box.


10. Select your newly created network from the menu. You'll need to select the network that you just created, as this is the network that you'll be sharing your internet connection with. It could be labeled "Local Area Connection #," "Wi-Fi" or "Microsoft Hosted Virtual Adapter. [4]"


11. Click "OK" to save your changes. Mobile devices that connect to your network will now be able to access the internet using your computer's connection.


12. Connect your mobile device to the new network. Now that the new network is set up, you can find the wireless network on your mobile device and try connecting to it:
Android - Open the Settings app and tap "Wi-Fi." Tap your newly-created network in the list of available networks, then enter the password you made when prompted.
iOS - Open the Settings app on your Home screen. Tap "Wi-Fi" and then find your new network in the "Choose a Network" list. Tap it and then enter the password when prompted.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
This only on windows PC.
